Habit of Daily Devotion
Jer. 15:15-21
Jeremiah sought for God’s word as a habit. He regarded the word as food which he consumed and in which he found joy and rejoicing of heart. Searching for the word was to him and individual endeavour and not a congregational search. Many have abandoned their individual responsibility to search for God’s word and have given that responsibility to their pastor. Granted that the spiritual nourishment a pastor gives is important, yet the individual member that will escape the famine must learn to daily set apart time for devotion. It should go beyond being a habit, it should be a discipline. Someone put the discipline in the form “no Bible, no breakfast”. It is only when you discipline yourself to commune with God that you can truly discover the sweetness in the Father-child relationship. It should be a daily routine because each day has its own challenges. Therefore, daily devotion should not be our last thought but our first.
Point of Emphasis: You can obtain daily direction from God as you sit at His feet in devotion.
Prayer Point: Father, strengthen me to maintain steady daily devotion with You.

L’HABITUDE DE DEVOTION QUOTIDIENNE
JER. 15 :15-21
Jérémie fit du sondage de la parole de Dieu une habitude. Il prit la parole pour nourriture laquelle il consomme et dans laquelle il trouva joie et gaieté de cœur. Sonder la parole de Dieu était pour lui une entreprise individuelle et non pas un sondage de congrégation. Beaucoup ont délaissé leur responsabilité individuelle de sonder la parole de Dieu et ont attribué cette responsabilité à leur pasteur. Quoique la nourriture spirituelle apportée par le pasteur soit bonne, toujours est-il que chaque membre qui désire échapper à la famine doit apprendre à consacrer toujours du temps à la dévotion. Quelqu’un mit la discipline sous forme de ‘absence de Bible, absence de déjeuner’. C’est seulement quand tu t’astreins à communier avec Dieu que tu peux réellement découvrir la douceur du rapport Père-fils. Cela doit faire partie de nos occupations quotidiennes car à chaque jour ses défis. La dévotion quotidienne ne doit pas donc être une dernière pensée mais plutôt notre première pensée.
Point essentiel : Tu peux obtenir le guide quotidien de Dieu comme tu t’assoies à ses pieds en dévotion.
Axe de prière : Père, fortifie-moi afin de maintenir avec toi une dévotion quotidienne régulière.
