Compelled By Holy Spirit To Preach

Acts 18:1-11

The baptism of the Holy Spirit does more than empower the believer to speak in tongues. The Holy Spirit kindles a fire in a believer – the fire of preaching the gospel to unbelievers. It was that same fire that burned into the heart of Jeremiah. He could not hold the word of God in; it burned inside of him and compelled him to preach to others. In the same manner, the Holy Spirit compelled Paul to preach in the synagogue of the Jews. In 1 Corinthians 9: 16 he says “necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel”. Many of us speak in tongues alright but do not feel any compulsion to preach. We need to search ourselves. Is the spirit in us a counterfeit or we disobey the Spirit of God in us?

Point of Emphasis:    Paul was compelled by the Spirit and he testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.

Prayer Point:             Holy Spirit, empower me to preach the word and to win souls for You in Jesus’ name.

FORCE PAR LE SAINT-ESPRIT DE PRECHER

ACTES 18 :1-11

Le baptême du Saint-Esprit en fait plus que permettre au croyant de s’assumer de parler en langues. Le Saint-Esprit allume un feu chez un croyant – le feu de prêcher l’évangile aux incroyants. C’était ce même feu qui brûla dans le cœur de Jérémie. Il ne pouvait pas garder en lui la parole de Dieu ; il brûla en lui et le força à prêcher aux autres. De la même façon, le Saint-Esprit força Paul de prêcher dans la synagogue des Juifs. Dans 1 Corinthiens 9:16 il affirma : « …car la nécessité m’en est imposée, et malheur à moi si je n’annonce pas l’Évangile!». Beaucoup d’entre nous parlent en langues, d’accord mais nous ne sentons aucune contrainte de prêcher. Nous avons besoin de nous examiner. L’esprit en nous est-il une contrefaçon ou désobéissons-nous à l’Esprit de Dieu en nous ?

Point essentiel : Paul fut forcé par l’Esprit et il attesta aux Juifs que Jésus est le Christ.

Axe de prière : Saint-Esprit, fortifie-moi pour prêcher ta parole et gagner des âmes au nom de Jésus.
