THE GATHERING OF THE YEAR  

Sunday, 31^st July, 2016.

“The Mighty One, God the LORD, Has spoken and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down.  Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth…”Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.” Let the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is Judge” (Ps. 50:1,2,5,6).

In ancient Israel, the people of God, the people of His covenant used to gather at Jerusalem to worship Jehovah, the Possessor of heaven & earth. In those days the worship of the true and Living God was in Jerusalem alone and none other place in the world (John 4:20). But it is no more Jerusalem alone but a kind of Jerusalem is everywhere, where God’s covenant people of any big church as GOFAMINT gathers every year.

That gathering of the year is called convention. It is God’s delight that His covenant people gather to Him for worship, for fellowship, for blessing, for empowerment for prayer, for revival and invigoration. It is a time of spiritual upliftment of God’s people, it is a time to study the word of God and receive more enlightenment and guide, it is a time of celebration, a time of meditation, a time of prayer and praying with other saints, it is a time when God pours out His Spirit and blessings upon His people, it is a time of refreshing and reawakening of God’s covenant people to their responsibility in the world, it is a time of giving and receiving from the Lord, it is a time that people of God call on God and He answers, it is a time of spiritual development and growth; in short it is a time of the manifestation of God’s power and His Shekinah glory.

You may want to ask, “Who are God’s covenant people today? The answer is simple, every believer in Jesus is God’s covenant person. If you have believed in Christ’s work of redemption on the cross and His substitutionary death and have repented of your sin, washed in the blood of Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit you are among God’s covenant people and saints. On the night prior to His crucifixion, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it and gave it to His disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.  For this is My blood of the new^[ covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. (Matt 26:26-28).

The church of God is God’s covenant people today like the Israel was in times past. It is a great privilege for God’s covenant people in GOFAMINT and others of like faith to gather at our International Annual Convention to enjoy the presence of the Lord with other blood washed saints, for spiritual empowerment and blessings that no social gathering could offer. In the days of Israel of old it is said, “They go from strength to strength. Each one appears before God in Zion.” (Ps.84:7) Our convention is such a gathering you will attend and never remain the same as you came.

Those who attended the previous ones can testify to this. And it is going to be great this year as we all with one mind and strong faith appear before the God of all universe to worship and celebrate Him. God is ready to meet with His people because He has already announced, “Gather My saints together to Me.” If you are one of God’s covenant people you are cordially invited, it is going to be great, it is going to be wonderful, it is going to be epoch making event in this season of New Era and the year of ENLARGEMENT in GOFAMINT, you cannot afford to miss the opportunity this year AS WE CELEBRATE DIAMOND JUBILEE.
