Birth of Levi
Gen. 29:30-35
Levi was the third son born by Leah to Jacob. The children of Jacob were raised in an atmosphere of envy and jealousy. Jacob loved Rachel, the second wife, more than Leah the first wife. God granted Leah children because she was unloved by the husband and envied by her sister, Rachel. When children grow up in an atmosphere where love is not shared equally, they develop some unhealthy attitudes. They tend to be independent and unattached emotionally. The names given to the children were also indicative of the contention that was going on in the family. Leah felt like a stranger in her husband’s home. The husband did not make her feel she really belonged. So when she gave birth to Levi, the third boy, she gave a name which literally meant “attached”, thinking that the husband would become attached to her. Point of Emphasis: Right attitudes can only be developed in children when brought up in atmosphere of love. Prayer Point: Father, help our parents to raise up their children in an atmosphere of love within the family.

LA NAISSANCE DE LEVI
GENESE 29:30-35
