The Main Content Of The Gospel
1 Tim. 1:12-17
Some people are orators, they can talk from morning till evening, moving from one issue to the other. But when it comes to the preaching of the gospel, they become mute, not knowing what to say. Some will only be telling cock and bull stories while preaching the gospel. However, the main content of the gospel is that Christ died and rose again to save sinners. Paul understood this and that is why he was able to say “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came to save sinners of whom I am chief” (v. 15). To preach to sinners, just tell them the essence of Christ’s death and resurrection in their lives and that Christ came to reconcile fallen man to God.
Point of Emphasis: Point people to Christ not to yourself.
Prayer Point: Help me Lord to always preach Christ to sinners.
