“Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children” (IsaIah 49:24-25).
Sometime ago, we had a faithful but fierce dog. On a particular occasion the dog had fleas all over his body, but no one could touch nor help him because of the risk of being bitten by the dog. All night and day, we heard his intermittent cries as sore broke out from the wounds created by the fleas and the flies that are tormenting him. The dog has lost his peace and eventually he ran, wailing to one of my sons, showing a sense of urgency and a desire to be helped. Immediately my son took the dog and applied some medication all over his body. The dog became delivered from the fleas and he regained his peace and freedom.
Regardless of whatever situation or circumstance, power or force that may have held you bound. In this month of deliverance and peace I decree total freedom and deliverance for you in the mighty name of Jesus.
Remember the Children of Israel, they entered Egypt as freeborn but ended up as slaves in Egypt, initially Pharaoh killed their male children and later made them slaves, he caused them to toil and labour, the hardship continued until God heard their cry. He saidExodus 3:7-8 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
Several things seeks to keep mankind bound, the devil, demons, powers of darkness, sickness, poverty, problems, curses etc but Jesus has come to make all free. It is written inIsa_61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Captivity is a state of having one’s freedom restricted it is the condition of being imprisoned or confined.A captive has no choice, he or she lives at the mercy of others, who determines his or fate. There are two types of captives, the lawful captive and the unlawful captive. One of the thief crucified alongside Jesus gave an insight to this concept when he said Luke 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
LAWFUL CAPTIVE: A lawful captive is a person who has done something to merit the captivity. Luke 23:41a And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds:The captivity came as a result of the action, or decision, taken by the person and the consequence of the action brought captivity on him or her.Inaction can also bring captivity, the failure to do what one ought to do.
UNLAWFUL CAPTIVE: An unlawful captive has done nothing for which he is being held captive.Luke 23:41c but this man hath done nothing amiss.An unlawful captive could be someone who has walked himself into captivity due to ignorance. He or she may not know the right available to him and yet may be held captive.
PREY: A prey is normally an animal that is hunted and killed by another for food, in biblical terms aprey is something that is captured.
Here we discover two types of captors, they may refer to the same or different personalities. The mighty and the terrible. Captors may qualify as mighty having some dark powers to keep others bound but God is the Almighty, the one that has all power to release the captives and hold captive or destroy their captors.Isa 14:16 -17 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
The devil had the entire world in his chains through the disobedience of Adam and Eve but Jesus came and delivered mankind from the captivity of satan. 1John3:8 and also John10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Beloved we shall continue next week be rest assured that this month is the time for your total deliverance. I decree that every yoke of captivity be shattered now by the anointing of the Holy Ghost, I release you from everything that has held you bound in Jesus Mighty Name, You are free. The chains are broken. In Jesus name.
