An Unprecendented Encounter
Acts 9:1-9
Saul (who later became Apostle Paul) persecuted the Christians with extreme zealousness. He went from place to place breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord Jesus. He was a witness and a supporter of Stephen’s death but on his way to Damascus to further persecute the Christians, he had a divine encounter with the Lord Jesus which brought about his salvation and transformation. Although Paul had no idea where the dazzling light that blinded him came from, he knew such encounter could only come from a higher authority. Otherwise, it would have been a contradiction to call someone a Lord and yet ask ‘who are thou’. The conversion of Apostle Paul signifies God’s mercy. The most despicable people by men’s standard oftentimes turn out to be mighty weapons in God’s hand.
Point of Emphasis: God can use you for His glory regardless of your past life.
Prayer Point: Lord, use me for your glory and arrest those who are yet to know you.
