Discipline Brings Restoration
Gal. 6:1-5
The primary purpose of Church discipline, or any discipline at all, is to bring about the restoration of the erring brother or sister. Discipline is not to be carried out as a retaliation or in bitterness, but with the spirit of humility. The person that is administering the discipline must know that he is also human and not an angel. Nobody is above mistake. Therefore, he must do it in the spirit of humility and love. Know that you are standing tall in Christ today by His grace and not of your own strength. Therefore, do all things possible in your capacity to restore the weak brother or sister that has been overtaken in any tresspass.
Point of Emphasis: Spiritual and matured Christians should restore erring brother or sister in a spirit of gentleness.
Prayer Point: Lord, restore to Your way and will, all that have erred from You.
