Never Accuse A Leader Falsely
Num. 12:1-3
The way Aaron and Miriam spoke about Moses marrying an Ethiopian woman presented a picture of Moses taking the second wife. However, this was not the case. In Hebrew, a Cushite was usually translated Ethiopian, and Zipporah who was an Arab born in the land of Midian, perfectly fits the picture. Moses had married her before the Israelites were instructed not to marry the Gentiles in the land they were going. However, Aaron and Mirian hid under that situation to accuse Moses falsely of marrying an Ethiopian woman. But their real problem was envy against Moses’ leadership and authority occasioned by the change made in the government by the adoption of the seventy rulers (Num. 11:16). Don’t allow envy to push you run down other people.
Point of Emphasis: Don’t be a source of offence to other people.
Prayer Point: Lord, help me not to be an accuser of the brethren.
